No! By the moon 32 by the retreating night, 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 A warning to mortals, 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 Till death overtook us. 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 Nay, but they do not [believe in and hence, do not] fear the life to come. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
