The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the books are spread, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
