Has the story reached thee, of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they entered unto him, saying 'Peace!' he said 'Peace! You are a people unknown to me.' 25 Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; 26 He placed it before them. Then he said, "Why are you not eating?" 27 Then he became afraid of them. They said: “Fear not,” and announced to him the good news of (the birth of) a boy endowed with knowledge. 28 His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" 29 They said: "Thus said your Lord. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing." 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 That we may send upon them stones of clay, 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 Thus We brought forth from therein who were believers. 35 And We found not therein more than one house of the Muslims. 36 and left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But he turned away with his forces and said: A magician or a mad man. 39 Then We laid hold of him and his hosts and flung them into the sea, and he was reproachable. 40 There is another sign in the [tribe of] 'Ad, when We sent against them a life-destroying wind 41 It left not aught whereon it came but it made it as matter decayed. 42 And in Thamud, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time." 43 after they had turned with disdain from their Sustainer's commandment - whereupon the thunderbolt of punishment overtook them while they were [helplessly] looking on: 44 So they were not able to rise up, nor could they defend themselves- 45 And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. 46
