The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear God? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 They said, "If you do not desist, Lot, you will surely be banished." 167 He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 Thereupon We saved him and all his household 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned. 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175
