The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
