Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish! May he too perish! 1 His wealth will not suffice him, neither what he has gained; 2 he shall roast at a flaming fire 3 His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!- 4 Upon her neck a halter of strongly twisted rope. 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
