The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
