The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 that hide, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
