The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 The closing night, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 So whither do you stray? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
