Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
