And recite to them the story of Ibrahim (Abraham). 69 when he asked his father and others, "What do you worship?" 70 They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." 71 He said: hearken they unto you when ye cry? 72 Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?" 73 They said: Nay, but we found our fathers acting on this wise. 74 He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 "Who created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 It is He who gives me food and drink 79 "And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me; 80 "And Who will cause me to die, and then will bring me to life (again); 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 My Lord! Vouchsafe me wisdom and unite me to the righteous. 83 And appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the latter. 84 and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray. 86 Do not degrade me on the Day when they are resurrected. 87 the day when neither wealth nor sons shall profit 88 Except him who comes to Allah with a heart free (from evil). 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 And hell will be revealed for the astray. 91 And it shall be said unto them where is that which ye were wont to worship? 92 "Instead of Allah? Can they help you or (even) help themselves?" 93 Then they shall be hurled therein, they and the seduced ones. 94 and the hosts of iblis all together. 95 "Quarrelling therein with each other, 96 they will say, "By God, we were in clear error 97 when we assigned to you a position equal to that of the Lord of the Universe. 98 It is none but those steeped in guilt who led us into this error, 99 “So now we do not have any intercessors.” (The believers shall have intercessors, the disbelievers none). 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 "'Now if we only had a chance of return we shall truly be of those who believe!'" 102 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 103 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 104
