Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 Faces on that day jocund, 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 In the high empyrean, 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 and carpets outspread. 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
