The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 And gives the lie to the best,- 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 And to Us belong the End and the Beginning. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 who belied and turned away, 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 But only the desire to seek for the Countenance of their Lord Most High; 20 He verily will be content. 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
