And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 when he asked his father and his people, "What is that which you worship?" 70 They said: We worship idols, and are ever devoted unto them. 71 He said, 'Do they hear you when you call, 72 "Or do you good or harm?" 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 Thereupon, Abraham said: "Have you seen (with your eyes) those whom you have been worshipping, 75 you and your forefathers -- 76 Surely they are enemies to me, but not (so) the Lord of the worlds; 77 "Who has created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 "Who gives me food and drink, 79 and heals me when I am sick. 80 He who will cause me to die and bring me back to life; 81 And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense." 82 O Lord, give me wisdom and admit me among the righteous, 83 and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me, 84 and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 Forgive my father. He has gone astray. 86 and do not put me to shame on the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 87 The day when neither wealth nor children will be of any avail 88 Unless it be he, who shall bring unto Allah a whole heart, 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 instead of God? Can these [things and beings] be of any help to you or to themselves?" 93 So they shall be thrown down into it, they and the erring ones, 94 And the whole hosts of Iblis (Satan) together. 95 And there and then, blaming one another, they [who had grievously sinned in life] will exclaim: 96 "By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Universe. 98 It was the evildoers who led us astray, 99 “So now we do not have any intercessors.” (The believers shall have intercessors, the disbelievers none). 100 no caring friend. 101 Would that we might return again, and be among the believers' 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
