And a sign for them is the dead land. We gave it life, and We brought forth from it grains, so that they eat thereof. 33 and [how] We make gardens of date-palms and vines [grow] thereon, and cause springs to gush [forth] within it, 34 So that they may eat from its fruits, whereas they are not manufactured by their hands! So will they not be grateful? 35 Purity is to Him Who created all pairs, from what the earth grows, and of themselves, and from the things they do not know. 36 And there is a sign in the night for them. We strip off the day from it and they are left in darkness, 37 how the sun moves in its orbit and this is the decree of the Majestic and All-knowing God; 38 And We have appointed positions for the moon till it returns like an old branch of the date palm. 39 It is not for the sun to catch up with the moon, nor does the night surpass the day; and each one of them floats in its orbit. 40 Another Sign for them is that We carried all their offspring in the laden vessel 41 and We have created for them the like of it whereon they ride; 42 If it were Our Will, We could drown them: then would there be no helper (to hear their cry), nor could they be delivered, 43 Except by way of Mercy from Us, and by way of (world) convenience (to serve them) for a time. 44 When they are told, "Fear ye that which is before you and that which will be after you, in order that ye may receive Mercy," (they turn back). 45 And never came an Ayah from among the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it. 46 And when it is said unto them: expend of that wherewith Allah hath provided you, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: shall we feed those whom God Himself would have fed, if He listed? Ye are in naught else than error manifest. 47 The unbelievers say, "When will the Day of Judgment come if what you say is at all true?" 48 They will not have to wait long. When the Day of Judgment comes, it will only take a single blast of sound to strike them while they are quarrelling with one another. 49 So they shall not be able to make a bequest, nor shall they return to their families. 50
