3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 We delivered him and his household from the great calamity; 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 Thus indeed do we reward those who do right. 80 he was truly one of Our faithful servants. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And, verily, among those who followed his [Nuh's (Noah)] way (Islamic Monotheism) was Ibrahim (Abraham). 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve 95 while it is Allah Who has created you and all that you make?” 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 [And he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Bestow upon me the gift of [a son who shall be] one of the righteous!" 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the posterity: 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones. 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
