Hizb 46
< random >
And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 He fled to the overloaded ship. 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 So the whale swallowed him, for he was blameworthy, 142 But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ But We cast him, upon the shore, and he was ill, 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 Then We sent him unto a hundred thousand, or more, 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 Behold, it is one of their fabrications that they say: 151 "Allah has begotten off spring or children (i.e. angels are the daughters of Allah)?" And, verily, they are liars! 152 Hath He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How judge ye? 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful. 157 They have said that there is a relationship between Him and the jinn. The jinn certainly know that they will all be brought to suffer torment. 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. 160 Wherefore verily neither ye nor that which ye worship, 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 we are they that give glory. 166 AND, INDEED, they [who deny the truth] have always been wont to say, 167 "If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples, 168 we would certainly be true servants of God." 169 They therefore denied it, so they will soon come to know. 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 that they shall certainly be succoured, 172 And that Our hosts, they verily would be the victors. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 And (then) see them, so they too shall see. 175 Would they hasten on Our doom? 176 But when it descends into the open space before them, evil will be the morning for those who were warned (and heeded not)! 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 and see; soon they shall see! 179 Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they ascribe (to Him)! 180 Peace be upon the Messengers 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
