Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
