The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said, “O Lut, if you do not desist, you will be expelled.” 167 He said: "I do detest your doings." 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 175
