The tribe of Thamud denied the Noble Messengers. 23 and they said: "Are we to follow one single mortal, one from among ourselves? In that case, behold, we would certainly sink into error and folly! 24 Was he the one of all of us to have been given the exposition? He is surely an impudent liar." 25 They shall know tomorrow whichsoever is a liar insolent. 26 We are sending the she-camel to them to test them. So watch them and be patient. 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them, each [day of] drink attended [by turn]. 28 Eventually, they summoned their companion, and he undertook the (outrageous) task and hamstrung the she-camel. 29 How then were My punishment and My warnings! 30 Then We sent a single blast against them and they became like dry stubble which has been trampled upon. 31 We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember! 32 The people of Lot denied the warning. 33 Lo! We sent a storm of stones upon them (all) save the family of Lot, whom We rescued in the last watch of the night, 34 As favor from us. Thus do We reward he who is grateful. 35 For he had truly warned them of Our punishing might; but they stubbornly cast doubt on these warnings, 36 And they had demanded from him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes, [saying], "Taste My punishment and warning." 37 Early on the morrow an abiding Punishment seized them: 38 So taste My punishment and warning. 39 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 40
