Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Verily We! We sent Nuh unto his people saying: warn thy people ere there come unto them torment afflictive. 1 He said: "O my People! I am to you a Warner, clear and open: 2 That you should worship God and fear Him, and follow me 3 He will forgive you your sins and respite you till an appointed term. When the term of Allah arrives it cannot be deferred; if you but knew' 4 He said: O my Lord! surely I have called my people by night and by day! 5 but my pleas have only increased their aversion. 6 "And verily! Every time I called unto them that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, and persisted (in their refusal), and magnified themselves in pride. 7 Then I summoned them openly, 8 Then I announced to them and [also] confided to them secretly 9 I said to them: “Ask forgiveness from your Lord; surely He is Most Forgiving. 10 He will send down abundant rain from the sky for you, 11 'And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers." 12 "'What is amiss with you that you cannot look forward to God's majesty, 13 when He has created you through different stages of existence? 14 See you not how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 "'And made the moon a light in their midst, and made the sun as a (Glorious) Lamp? 16 ‘And it is Allah Who made you grow like vegetation from the earth.’ 17 and [then] He will bring you forth [from It] in resurrection. 18 Allah has made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 "'That ye may go about therein, in spacious roads.'" 20
