No, by the moon! 32 And the night when it departs, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 As a warning unto men, 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 in Gardens they will question 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
