I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 by the retreating night, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 A warning unto humankind 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 concerning the sinners, 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
