Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha Mim. 1 By the Clear Book, 2 Surely We have made it an Arabic Quran that you may understand. 3 And indeed it is, in the Mother of the Book with Us, exalted and full of wisdom. 4 So shall We divert the advice away from you, because you are a nation that exceeds the limits? 5 And how many a prophet We sent among the ancients. 6 And whenever any Prophet came to them, they only mocked at him. 7 Then We destroyed men mightier than these in prowess; and the example of the men of old hath gone (before them). 8 And if thou askest them: who hath created the heavens and the earth? they will surely say: created them the Mighty, the Knower. 9 Who has made the earth a cradle for you and made thereon paths for you so that, hopefully, you may find your way 10 And (it is He), who sends down water from the sky in its measure thereby We revive the land that was dead, as such you shall be brought forth. 11 It is He who has created everything in pairs and the ships and cattle for you to ride, 12 That you may firmly sit on their backs, then remember the favor of your Lord when you are firmly seated thereon, and say: Glory be to Him Who made this subservient to us and we were not able to do it 13 surely unto our Lord we are turning.' 14 Yet they have made some of His servants a part of Him. Indeed man is most evidently thankless. 15
