Nay, and by the moon, 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 A warning to mankind, 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens they will question 40 concerning the sinners, 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 as if they were startled asses 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
