The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
