The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the books are spread, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 and brightening morning, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
