The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
