Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the loosed ones successively 1 storming tempestuously 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 for an appointed term? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 Lo! it throweth up sparks like the castles, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
