The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent, 8 And rejects the best, 9 We shall pave his way to hardship, 10 And what will his wealth avail him when he falls? 11 Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance -- 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 Wherefore I have warned you of Fire flaming, 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
Almighty God's Truth.
