The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 taught the human what he did not know. 5 Nay, verily, man becomes grossly overweening 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 a servant when he prays -- 10 Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way, 11 or if he commands others to maintain piety!? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 So let him now call his gang! 17 We too would summon the braves of the army. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
