They ask you about revelation. Say, revelation is by the command of your Lord, and that you have been given but little knowledge. 85 If We pleased, We would certainly take away that which We have revealed to you, then you would find no guardian for you against Us, 86 (It is naught) save mercy from thy Lord. Lo! His kindness unto thee was ever great. 87 Say: "If all mankind and all invisible beings would come together with a view to producing the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce its like even though they were to exert all their strength in aiding one another!" 88 We have indeed turned about for men in this Koran every manner of similitude; yet most men refuse all but unbelief. 89 They say: 'We will not believe in you until you make a spring gush from the earth for us, 90 "Or you have a garden of date-palms and grapes, and cause rivers to gush forth in their midst abundantly; 91 or, until you cause the sky to fall upon us in pieces, as you have claimed, or, as a surety bring Allah with the angels in front; 92 "Or thou have a house adorned with gold, or thou mount a ladder right into the skies. No, we shall not even believe in thy mounting until thou send down to us a book that we could read." Say: "Glory to my Lord! Am I aught but a man,- a messenger?" 93
