The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created of spurting water 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 and is no idle tale. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
