We indeed created man; and We know what his soul whispers within him, and We are nearer to him than the jugular vein. 16 Behold! when the two receivers receive - one on the right hand and one on the left a sitter. 17 Man does not utter any word except that with him is an observer prepared [to record]. 18 And the stupor of death will bring Truth (before his eyes): "This was the thing which thou wast trying to escape!" 19 And the Trumpet shall be blown: that will be the Day whereof Warning (had been given). 20 And there will come forth every soul: with each will be an (angel) to drive, and an (angel) to bear witness. 21 'Thou wast heedless of this; therefore We have now removed from thee thy covering, and so thy sight today is piercing.' 22 And his companion (angel) will say: "Here is (this Record) ready with me!" 23 "Cast each stubborn unbeliever into Hell," (they will be told), 24 forbidder of good, transgressor and doubter, 25 Who had set up another god with God. Cast him into severe torment." 26 ۞ Man's other self' will say: "O our Sustainer! It was not I that led his conscious mind into evil [nay,] but it had gone far astray [of its own accord]! 27 He will say: Do not quarrel in My presence, and indeed I gave you the threatening beforehand: 28 and My word shall not be changed, nor am I unjust to My servants." 29
