Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), 1 till you reached the grave. 2 Nay, in time you will come to understand! 3 Again, yes certainly, you will soon realise! 4 Nay, would that you knew with certainty of knowledge (what your attitude will lead to, you would never have acted the way you do). 5 you shall surely see Hell; 6 You would see it with the eye of certainty. 7 Then, on that Day, you shall be asked about the delight (you indulged in, in this world)! 8

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
