The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 Teacheth man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 or orders piety? 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 does he not know that Allah sees? 14 No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock; 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We will now call the guards! 18 (Muhammad), never yield to him! Prostrate yourself and try to come closer to God. ۩ 19
