The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
