The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 Where then will you go? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
