We sent Noah to his people and he lived with them for nine hundred and fifty years, then the flood engulfed them for their injustice. 14 Yet We delivered him, and those who were in the ship, and appointed it for a sign unto all beings. 15 And Abraham, when he said to his people, 'Serve God, and fear Him; that is better for you, did you know. 16 You worship only [lifeless] idols instead of God, and [thus] you give visible shape to a lie! Behold, those [things and beings] that you worship instead of God have it not in their power to provide sustenance for you: seek, then, all [your] sustenance from God, and worship Him [alone] and be grateful to Him: [for] unto Him you shall be brought back! 17 If you belie me, other nations before you also belied. It is only for a Messenger to deliver the clear deliverance. 18 Do they not see how Allah originates the Creation, and then brings it back? That is an easy matter for Allah. 19 Say: Journey in the land, then behold how He originated creation; then God causes the second growth to grow; God is powerful over everything, 20 He punisheth whom He will and showeth mercy unto whom He will, and unto Him ye will be turned. 21 You cannot defeat His purpose on earth or in heaven; nor have you any friend or helper besides God." 22
