The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

Woe to every scorner and mocker 1 who has gathered riches and counted them over 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever! 3 Nay! Verily, he will be thrown into the crushing Fire. 4 And what have you understood what the Crushing One is! 5 A fire kindled by God, 6 Which mounts directed at the hearts. 7 (And) vaults them over 8 in extended columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
