The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 and the mountains as pegs (to anchor the earth)? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 From the rain clouds We send waters pouring down in abundance, 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 Save boiling water and a paralysing cold: 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 having given the lie to Our messages one and all: 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
