The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And the breath of morning 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
