The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
