Al-A 'araaf 13 of 24

To those who inherit the earth in succession to its (previous) possessors, is it not a guiding, (lesson) that, if We so willed, We could punish them (too) for their sins, and seal up their hearts so that they could not hear? 100 Those townships! We recount unto thee some tidings thereof. Assuredly there came unto them their apostles with evidences, but they were not such as to believe that which they had erst belied. Thus doth Allah put a seal upon the hearts of the infidels. 101 We did not find the covenant upheld by the majority of them, but We found most of them evildoers. 102 After those We sent forth Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his nobles, but they dealt with Our signs unjustly. Observe, then, what happened to the mischief-makers. 103 Moses said, 'Pharaoh, I am a Messenger from the Lord of all Being, 104 I must only speak what is true about God. I have brought you miracles from your Lord; therefore, let the children of Israel go free". 105 Pharaoh said: if you have brought a sign, then bring it forth if you are truthful.' 106 So Moses threw down his staff and suddenly it turned into a real serpent. 107 Then he drew out his hand and it was luminous to the onlookers. 108
