Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 [This is] a revelation from the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful - 2 A Book whereof the verses are detailed; an Arabic Qur'an, for a people who know. 3 Good tidings and a warning. But most of them turn away so that they hear not. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working." 5 Say: I am only a mortal like you; it is revealed to me that your Allah is one Allah, therefore follow the right way to Him and ask His forgiveness; and woe to the polytheists; 6 Who do not give a due share of their wealth for the welfare of others, and do not believe in the Hereafter. 7 "The ones who believe and perform good deeds shall have a reward which will never be withheld from them." 8
