S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Sad. By the Qur'an full of admonition. 1 Nay! those who disbelieve are in self-exaltation and opposition. 2 Many a generation We did destroy before them – thereupon they cried out whereas it is not the time to escape! 3 They were surprised that one of them had come to them as warner; and the unbelievers said: "He is a deceiving sorcerer. 4 Maketh he the gods One God? Verily that is a thing astounding! 5 And their leading chiefs said: "Remain attached to your gods. There is surely some motive behind it. 6 We have not heard of this in the last religion; this is surely an invention. 7 What, out of all of us, has the Remembrance been sent down to him (Prophet Muhammad)' No, they are doubtful about My Remembrance, no, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or have they the treasures of the Mercy of your Lord, the All-Mighty, the Real Bestower? 9 Is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for them? So would they not just ascend using ropes? 10 But there - will be put to flight even a host of confederates. 11 Before them (were many who) rejected messengers,- the people of Noah, and 'Ad, and Pharaoh, the Lord of Stakes, 12 and so did Thamud and the people of Lot and the people of Aykah. These were all leagued together. 13 Not one of them but belied the Messengers, therefore My Torment was justified, 14
