Deem not that Allah is unaware of what the wicked do. He but giveth them a respite till a day when eyes will stare (in terror), 42 (And) they would hasten forward, heads lifted upwards, gazes fixed, and emptied out their hearts. 43 And warn people of the day when the chastisement shall come to them, then those who were unjust will say: O our Lord! respite us to a near term, (so) we shall respond to Thy call and follow the apostles. What! did you not swear before (that) there will be no passing away for you! 44 "And ye dwelt in the dwellings of men who wronged their own souls; ye were clearly shown how We dealt with them; and We put forth (many) parables in your behoof!" 45 And they have indeed planned their plan, but their plan is with Allah, though their plan was such that the mountains should pass away thereby. 46 Never think that God will fail in His promise to His messengers. God is mighty and capable of retribution. 47 On the day when the earth and the heavens will be replaced by another earth and heavens and everyone will be brought before the One Almighty God, 48 On that Day you shall see the guilty bound in chains, 49 Their shirts made of pitch and the fire covering their faces 50 In order that Allah may repay each soul what it had earned; indeed Allah spends no time in judging the account. 51 This is a message to be delivered to mankind so that they may be warned by it, and know that He is (Allah) One God, and so all those possessed of minds may remember. 52
