The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Alif. Lam. Ra. These are the verses of the Book and the glorious Quran. 1 Perhaps (often) will those who disbelieve wish that they were Muslims [those who have submitted themselves to Allah's Will in Islam Islamic Monotheism, this will be on the Day of Resurrection when they will see the disbelievers going to Hell and the Muslims going to Paradise]. 2 (Muhammad), leave them alone to eat and enjoy themselves and let their desires deceive them; they will soon know (the Truth). 3 Never did We destroy a population that had not a term decreed and assigned beforehand. 4 No nation can outstrip its term nor can they lag behind. 5 And they say: O you to whom the Reminder has been revealed! you are most surely insane: 6 “Why do you not bring angels to us, if you are truthful?” 7 We do not send angels except with the truth. Then they shall have no respite. 8 Lo! We, even We, reveal the Reminder, and lo! We verily are its Guardian. 9 We did send messengers before thee amongst the religious sects of old: 10 And there never came an apostle to them but they mocked him. 11 Thus do We let it (polytheism and disbelief) enter into the hearts of the Mujrimun [criminals, polytheists, pagans, etc. (because of their mockery at the Messengers)]. 12 they do not believe in it. This has been the wont of people of this kind from ancient times. 13 And if We opened upon them a door of the heaven, and they passed the day mounting thereto. 14 they would still have said: "Surely our eyes have been dazzled; rather, we have been enchanted." 15
