Have the unbelievers not ever considered that the heavens and the earth were one piece and that We tore them apart from one another. From water We have created all living things. Will they then have no faith? 30 And We have placed in the earth firm mountains lest it should move away with them, and We placed therein passages for paths, that haply they may be guided. 31 And we have made the sky a roof withheld (from them). Yet they turn away from its portents. 32 And He it is Who has created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon, each in an orbit floating. 33 We granted not to any man before thee permanent life (here): if then thou shouldst die, would they live permanently? 34 Every living being must taste death; and We test you with harm and with good – a trial; and to Us only you have to return. 35 When the unbelievers see you they make you an object of fun, saying: "Is he the one who mentions your gods?" They say so, and yet they reject with disdain the very mention of the Most Compassionate Lord. 36 Man is made of inordinate haste. We will show you Our signs, then you will not desire to hasten (the punishment). 37 They say: "(Tell us) when will the threat of punishment come to pass if you are truthful?" 38 If those who disbelieved but knew the time when they will not avert the Fire from their faces or from their backs and they will not be aided... 39 It will come upon them unawares confounding them, and they will not be able to keep it back, nor will they be given respite. 40 Other messengers have been mocked before you, but those who scoffed were overwhelmed by the very thing they had mocked. 41
