Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 [how it was] when he asked his father and his people, "What is it that you worship?" 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 “Or do they benefit you or harm you?” 73 They said, “In fact we found our forefathers doing likewise.” 74 Abraham said, "Have you really thought about what you have been worshipping, 75 You and your ancient sires. 76 Yet they are my enemies except the Lord of all the worlds 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 "And when I am ill, it is He who cures me. 80 Who will make me die, then give me life again, 81 And who, I hope, will condone my faults on the Day of Judgement. 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Delight. 85 and forgive my father, for he was among the astray. 86 and disgrace me not on the Day when people will be raised to life, 87 on the Day of Judgment when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit 88 Except him who comes to Allah with a heart free (from evil). 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 whereas the blazing fire will be laid open before those who had been lost in grievous error; 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?" 93 And they will be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 and the army of satan will all be thrown headlong into hell. 95 "They will say there in their mutual bickerings: 96 "By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of all Being. 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 and now we have none to intercede on our behalf, 100 Nor a close friend (to help us). 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 104

Notes and Instructions
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
There are memorization exercises for the original Arabic and English transliterated Arabic modes only. The English translation mode has no memorization exercises.
